Grade 10 Dux Award Sponsorship - Kerowagi Seconday School 2015 - 2025

Airmen Lodge commenced sponsoring the "Grade 10 Dux Award" in 2015 known as the Alex Goiye Scholarship award at Kerowagi Secondary School. The 2015 Grade 10 Dux Award was awarded to Michael Konme.

The Dux student gets a trophy and the student's name is engraved to the Dux Award Shield that is kept at the Kerowagi Secondary School main office. The student gets a K1000 school assistance money that is paid in two halves for both grade 11 and 12 fees.

The Alex Goiye Dux Award Scholarship and shield is valued at K15,000 spread over the few years.

The scholarship award is awarded to the Grade 10 because Alex Goiye is a local Kerowagi boy who scored Dux from Grades 7 to 10 while studying at Kerowagi High School from 1985 to 1989.

Alex then won academic merit scholarship  to St Peters Lutheran College in Australia. He then went on to study Petroleum Engineering and Mathematics at University of Tulsa in Oklahoma USA. He also completed petroleum engineering certification at Japan Technical Research Centre. Alex also attained a Master of Science Degree from the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland UK. He is one of the pioneers in the PNG petroleum engineering field. His international experiences and exposures cover USA, Japan, UK and Australia. He is currently a petroleum engineering advisor to a large oil and gas company.
